Arsenal and Tottenham are reportedly two of six Premier League clubs chasing Sporting Cristal talent and Peru international Jhilmar Lora.
According to Planet Sport, the 21-year-old defender has caught the eye of a host of European clubs after starring for both club and country in recent months, with Lora emerging as a starring player for Sporting Cristal in 2021.
As per the report, Lora is being chased by Arsenal and Tottenham as well as Brentford, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Everton, with the youngster’s international caps for Peru making him an easy and cheap target for English clubs.
Labelled by Sporting Cristal manager Roberto Mosquera as ‘an excellent and interesting player’, Lora has exploded onto the Peruvian football scene over the past 12 months, with the youngster now Los Incas’ starting right-back.
As per Transfermarkt, Lora has started most Peru matches when in the squad, with the defender shining in their 1-0 loss to Argentina where the youngster kept Lionel Messi quiet for the majority of the match according to World Football Index.
With Lora making waves at every level, it makes sense why clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham are interested in the Peruvian, who could be a cheap signing for either club ahead of the summer transfer window.
Jhilmar Lora could play squad role for Arsenal or Tottenham

With both Arsenal and Tottenham likely to sign right-backs in the summer, Lora presents an interesting solution for the north London clubs, with the Gunners, on paper, better suited to offer the defender regular football.
After all, Mikel Arteta’s side are keen on finding a back-up for Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Lora could play this role for the Gunners, especially with the Arsenal defender having a patchy injury record and European football likely to return to north London next season.
