Michael Owen has claimed that Harry Kane can do ‘pretty much everything’, as he told Premier League Productions (26/02/22 at 2:35 pm).

The former title-winner added that he can also pick passes with his ‘eyes closed’, as he made reference to his record-breaking assist for Heung-Min Son against Leeds on Saturday.

Antonio Conte’s side, after beating Man City last week then losing to Burnley in midweek, dispatched Leeds United 4-0 at Elland Road.

For the away side’s fourth goal, Kane picked put a Playstation-like pass for the on-rushing Son from his own half and it meant that they also broke the record for most goal contributions in Premier League history.

When Owen was talking about the qualities in Kane’s game, the TV pundit shared what he brings to the table.

“He is just a great player,” said Owen. “Great players can do pretty much everything.

“He’s a great finisher, movement, vision and you can see him scanning the pitch.

“Believe it or not, it’s quite an easy pass for him (for Son’s goal). The weight of it all, direction and pinging it with no pressure. He can do that with his eyes closed.”

For Spurs fans, they won’t be surprised that Kane has a mixture of a number ten’s quality and a number nine’s quality to his game.

The 2020/21 Golden Boot winner did start his career in the club’s academy as a number ten, but there is no doubt that he has taken that part of his game to different levels.

If need be, he could play just as a playmaker for his side, but given the lack of quality in that area and up top, he has to do both.

It’s probably an indicator to Daniel Levy that, if he adds quality on top of what the likes of Kane and Son bring to the table, then they can probably get back to playing Champions League football.
