According to the Independent‘s Miguel Delaney, Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Joao Felix, but he’s said to be tempted by Newcastle.

What’s the story?

Well, in the first of Delaney’s weekly newsletters, it was revealed that the Gunners have been offered an interesting opportunity.

It comes after AS claimed that Felix is tempted to join Newcastle, following the Saudi Arabian takeover on Tyneside.

It is said that Arsenal are still on the lookout for a new centre-forward, having missed out on Dusan Vlahovic despite agreeing a deal for the Serbian.

Felix – who cost Atlético Madrid £113m – is struggling under Diego Simeone, and hinted to The Athletic that he’s unhappy in Spain.

So far this season, the Portugal international has scored just five goals in 25 appearances across all competitions.

Arsenal must beat Newcastle to Joao Felix

In our view, Arsenal could have one of the best attacks in Europe if they can convince Felix to join them.

Should the 22-year-old arrive at the Emirates Stadium, Mikel Arteta would have one of the most exciting Under-23 quartets on the planet.

The likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka would sit behind Felix, in a frontline with the potential to become Europe’s best.

Without a doubt, there are a few potential Ballon d’Or winners among those four.

Away from the frontline, the Gunners also have other excellent young players such as Ben White, Aaron Ramsdale, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Martin Ødegaard.

Whether it’s Felix or another precocious youngster who is signed, the future certainly looks bright for Arsenal.
