CalcioMercato claim Everton and West Ham have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Arnaut Danjuma from La Liga side Villarreal. The Netherlands star is sparkling in Spain, after joining last summer from Bournemouth.

Danjuma, 25, has been in stunning form for Villarreal – clocking up 12 goals and three assists in 22 appearances. He scored a hat-trick in his last La Liga outing, in a 4-1 win over Granada – after a two-month injury lay-off.

The winger has of course, spent time in England at Bournemouth. Struggling in the Premier League, he found his feet in the Championship – where he scored 15 goals and created seven more in 33 appearances.

The Athletic report that he has a £62.5million release clause in his contract – and Fabrizio Romano has reported that Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp ‘love’ Danjuma. Now, CM report Everton and West Ham are interested in him.

Everton, West Ham eye Danjuma: Liverpool are surely favourites?

Having tasted Champions League football with Villarreal this season, Danjuma will hardly want to join a club that are not in Europe. He might not start for Liverpool, but a move to Anfield will surely be tempting.

At Everton and West Ham, he would probably be first choice – especially if Jarrod Bowen ends up at Anfield. West Ham look good for some European football of some sort, and that could also be tempting.

Europe, living in London and a regular starter for the Hammers is a good proposition. Everton have Frank Lampard, but are well below their rivals. It will be interesting to see if Villarreal would be willing to cash in.
