Jurgen Klopp has claimed that Sadio Mane had ‘one of his best’ games for Liverpool after they thrashed Leeds United 6-0 at Anfield, as he told Premier League Productions.

The Liverpool boss added that Mane was ‘absolutely insane’ against the relegation-threatened side.

Even though the Reds raced into a 3-0 lead inside 30 minutes and were enjoying themselves against a fragile Leeds side, it took Mane up until the 80th minute to open up his own account.

And even then, he still managed to net a brace on a night that took Klopp’s side three points closer to leaders Manchester City in the table.

After the game, this is what Klopp had to say about his Africa Cup of Nation winning star.

“Sadio Mane’s game was probably one of his best in the way he interpreted his role,” said Klopp.

“Playing in the centre. How he got away from his opponent and open up gaps for us. It was absolutely insane.”

Liverpool are well and truly warmed up for their League Cup final clash against Chelsea on Sunday for Wembley.

They sent out a statement of intent by wiping the floor with a fellow Premier League side and they can do it once again over the weekend.

Win that first domestic trophy of the season on the horizon, this Liverpool side, who are still in every competition, can add some serious confidence to their wings.

And with the attack Klopp can pick from, added with Virgil van Dijk getting better and better, not many will be able to stop this team from scoring.
