Kieran Trippier has taken to Instagram to share a three-word message with the Newcastle supporters, and it’ll be music to their ears.

What’s the story?

Well, the £12m man decided to host a Q&A on Instagram earlier today, where he was asked how his recovery is going.

Trippier is set to be on the sidelines for a number of weeks after breaking a bone in his foot, during the 1-0 win over Aston Villa.

Thankfully, all seems to be going well, according to the man himself.

Trippier said “really well thanks” in response to the concerned supporter who asked how his rehab is going, along with a photo of himself in Newcastle’s treatment room.

It comes after Eddie Howe also revealed that the 31-year-old’s operation went smoothly, and he hopes to return before the end of the season.

In four Premier League appearances for the Magpies, Trippier has scored two goals, and is yet to lose a league game for Newcastle.

It isn’t normal for a right-back to score two goals in his first four league games for a new club, but that’s exactly what Trippier has done.

Perhaps more impressive, however, is the fact that he was named captain against Aston Villa, just weeks into his time on Tyneside.

It really does say a lot about how big a character Trippier is, and his leadership qualities alone – even around the training ground – should help Newcastle avoid relegation to the Championship.

For just £12m, the England international has to be considered as one of the signings of the season, even if he did arrive halfway through the campaign.
