Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been dented in their hopes of signing Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez this summer.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see either North London side sign a striker this summer.
Arsenal desperately need a striker or two given that Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract this summer.
Over at Tottenham, it looks like Harry Kane is staying but another striker to support Kane has been needed for many years.
Inter Milan ace Martinez was linked with both clubs last year and it looks like those rumours are back.
Reports in Italy claim that Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham all want Martinez, which a suggestion from Spain is that Inter want £58.5million for the striker.
Martinez has been branded ‘spectacular’ by Lionel Messi and could be a huge capture for any Premier League side.
The 24-year-old has hit 11 goals and two assists in 23 games this season, with his total Inter record now standing at 61 goals in 165 games.
Antonio Conte was a big fan of Martinez at Inter, so you can absolutely understand him wanting a reunion at Tottenham.
Inter sold a big striker last summer as Romelu Lukaku left the club, and Inter may need cash again this summer.
However, Martinez’s agent has moved to play down rumours of a big move to the Premier League.
Agent Alejandro Camano has told FC Inter 1908 that Martinez is purely focused on Inter and is very happy with the club.

Camano even suggested that Martinez isn’t bothered about personal success and just wants to do right by Inter.
“Lautaro doesn’t care about Lautaro, Lautaro cares about Inter,” said Camano. “Because he wants to help, he wants the fans to be happy, he wants to make his club happy. They are actually scoring little, Inter are scoring little. But it’s a process and the goals will come back, that’s for sure. The club will play well again and the goals will come back. Lautaro will score, Dzeko will score, everyone will score.”
“But Lautaro just wants Inter to win, Lautaro doesn’t care about personal success, he cares that the Inter win. And the goals will return because Lautaro is a world-class champion, you just have to stay calm. Total peace of mind. And Lautaro is happy at Inter and happy with the Inter fans. “
“No, he is very happy in Inter,” he added when asked if Inter fans have anything to worry about.
It seems that Martinez’s priority is to stay at Inter, but their financial situation may just mean that Arsenal and Tottenham are able to have a go anyway.
