According to Sport, Tottenham have made the best offer for Paulo Dybala so far, but it may not be enough to lure him to the Premier League.

What’s the story?

Well, the Spanish news outlet portray Fabio Paratici – Director of Football at Spurs – as the driving force behind this pursuit.

It is said that the Italian worked alongside Dybala at Juventus, and knows all about his qualities.

The Argentina international’s contract expires in June, and Tottenham feel this is a fantastic market opportunity they cannot miss out on.

Sport add that Spurs have already made contact with Dybala, and have held talks with the 28-year-old.

However, Barcelona could ruin things.

Sport believe Dybala is interested in a move to the Camp Nou, where he would link up with Xavi in Catalonia.

Barcelona previously wanted to sign the South American, but he was unsure where he’d fit into the side while Lionel Messi was there.

Now the 33-year-old is at Paris Saint-Germain, it seems Dybala is open to joining the Spanish giants.

Tottenham must beat Barcelona to Paulo Dybala

It’s not often that a player of this quality ends up on the market as a free transfer, so Spurs must secure Dybala’s signature.

The £222,000-a-week man is one of the best forwards in Europe, and an attacking trio of him, Heung-min Son and Harry Kane would be extraordinary.

Should they all click, it could even rival Liverpool’s trident of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

Barcelona are struggling financially, so Tottenham have a good chance of winning this race.

Keep an eye on this saga – Dybala seemingly has no intention of signing a new contract at Juventus, so a summer move looks very likely.
