Arsenal are reportedly ready to launch efforts to sign Napoli pair Victor Osimhen and Fabian Ruiz, with the Gunners eager to sign a new striker and central midfielder in the summer.
Napoli Piu claim that the north London side are interested in the Serie A duo, with Arsenal interested in signing both Osimhen and Ruiz in the winter transfer window. However, club president Aurelio De Laurentiis not open to selling either player.
As per the report, Napoli would be open to selling the ‘outstanding’ pair if an offer of over €100m (£85m) is submitted by Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta’s side likely to go big once again in the summer transfer window to bring in more added quality to the squad.
With Arsenal also likely to spend in the summer, Osimhen and Ruiz suit what the Premier League side are looking for. With Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both leaving the club, a new striker is needed for the Gunners.
Moreover, the pending departure of Mohamed Elneny this summer and the uncertain future of Granit Xhaka means central midfield must be addressed, and Ruiz’s style of play could compliment Thomas Partey perfect in the centre of the park.
