James Rodriguez has been speaking to his Twitch followers about his exit from Everton, where he made a number of interesting revelations.
What’s the story?
Well, the Colombian revealed that it was Rafa Benitez who forced him out of Everton, something that has been well documented at this point.
However, Rodriguez also admitted that he would come back to Goodison Park if the opportunity arose.
As quoted by AS, the 30-year-old said: “In the end, the coach didn’t want to count on me, it’s the preferences of each coach, some like you, others don’t and that’s respectable, but I’d come back, why not, I left everything, I always trained, worked and the Everton fanbase is very big and supports well.”
By the sounds of it, Rodriguez was quite content with life at Everton, but unfortunately ran into a manager who didn’t exactly like him.
The former Real Madrid man also discussed what the future holds for him after he leaves Al-Rayyan.

Despite being open to re-joining the Toffees, Rodriguez also said that Major League Soccer over in the United States would be a “good option”.
So far this season, the South American has scored three goals while also providing four assists in nine appearances for Al-Rayyan.
Everton should move on from James Rodriguez
In our view, Everton shouldn’t act on what Rodriguez said.
At the age of 30, you could argue that the 2014 World Cup Golden Boot winner still has a lot to offer.

However, Frank Lampard must adopt a youthful approach at Goodison Park, and 30-year-old players should not be on his radar.
According to TEAMtalk, Everton want to sign Conor Gallagher, and the 22-year-old is exactly the type of profile Lampard should be seeking.
Of course, Rodriguez would probably provide some flashes of genius if he returned, but in regards to a long-term plan at Everton, he would be taking up a big salary which could be spread across three exciting prospects.
