Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he automatically thought ‘Man City won 3-2’ against Tottenham when he was first initially told about the scoreline from the Etihad on Saturday, as he told his Liverpool press conference.
The Liverpool boss, who was out for the evening, shared that he was told by his driver that Man City had equalised against Spurs, before being told it’s now 3-2 and thinking it was Pep Guardiola’s side that had secured the three points.
Klopp expressed his surprise when he found out that it was Tottenham instead, as he shared how he was following the game over the weekend.
“I was on my home when it was 2-1 Tottenham,” said Klopp. “Then I arrived at home and didn’t follow it anymore because I was sure Man City would equalise.
“Then we went out, the driver was very excited and told me that it was 2-2. Then 3-2.
“When he said 3-2, I thought Man City won 3-2. Then when he said, ‘they won 3-2’. I was like ‘oh’, that was my reaction.”

It was a monumental win for Spurs and one that opened up the title race once more.
Liverpool, who face off against Leeds on Wednesday night, will move within three points of their title rivals if they win that game in hand at Anfield.
A number of weeks ago, it seemed as though the title race was heading one way and one way only.
But that game-changing result has now resulted in the current champions looking over their shoulder and really worrying that they might now be caught.
After the drama in the summer, which saw Man City trying to sign Harry Kane, the Spurs striker just had to leave his best performance of the season for the Etihad.
Not only did Kane produce his best performance of the campaign, but one of his best since he put on that Tottenham shirt many years ago.
