Ryan Kent left Richard Foster in awe on BBC Sportsound (17/02, 18:54) for his role in John Lundstram stretching Rangers’ lead during their Europa League win at Borussia Dortmund.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side stunned the Bundesliga giants on Thursday by winning the knockout round play-off first-leg 4-2 in Germany. James Tavernier handed the Gers a first-half lead from the penalty spot, before Alfredo Morelos and Lundstram stretched the gap.
Jude Bellingham offered BVB hope of a potential comeback soon after Lundstram hit home. Yet an own goal from Dan-Axel Zagadou, who conceded the penalty for a handball, dashed Marco Rose’s hopes. But Raphael Guerreiro did hand his side a lifeline for the second-leg.

Borussia Dortmund will need to produce a much more convincing performance to possibly beat Rangers next Thursday and progress. The Gers continually tore through BVB’s fragile defence, while Rose lacked a clear goal threat with Erling Haaland watching from the sides.
Ryan Kent role in Lundstram goal stunned ex-Rangers man Foster vs Dortmund
Rangers stunned Borussia Dortmund by scoring twice in the final seven-minutes of the first-half in their Europa League clash. The Glasgow outfit did not let their foot off the gas as the second period began, either, picking up from where they left off to probe more questions.
Kent soon sniffed his chance to break with phenomenal work on Rangers’ left-flank to beat four Borussia Dortmund players and find Lundstram. The midfielder then wrapped his left-boot around the ball on the edge of the area and place the ball into the bottom far corner.

Kent’s confident burst of pace to break through Borussia Dortmund and assist Lundstram stunned former Rangers defender Foster. The ex-Ibrox man also voiced praise for the latter as his strike was by no means certain to end up in the back of stopper Gregor Kobel’s net.
“It’s a fantastic goal,” Foster said. “Brilliant play from Kent – driving at defenders, and then he sets back a lovely pass for Lundstram. He’s got a lot to do but he catches it so sweet and sweeps it into the far corner.”
Kent has now offered 12 assists and has two goals after 26 appearances in all competitions so far this season. Lundstram, meanwhile, hit his third Gers goal after his summer arrival.
