Liverpool eased past Inter Milan 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League, yet a moment between Virgil van Dijk and Denzel Dumfries caught the eyes of fans.
As per the Daily Mail, the Dutch pair were spotted together seconds after Mohamed Salah had scored Liverpool’s second goal of the night, with Van Dijk seen trying to cheer up his Netherlands teammate Dumfries.
The defender, who signed for Inter in the summer, was one of the stars of Euro 2020 as Van Dijk missed the tournament due to rehab from his ACL injury in 2020.
Yet the pair were on the pitch at the San Siro this week, and Van Dijk was hilariously caught seemingly teasing his Dutch counterpart just mere moments after Inter went 2-0 down to Liverpool.
With Dumfries, who earns a reported £64,000-a-week at Inter, on the losing side of the things, the right-back will no doubt be keen to get revenge on Liverpool and Van Dijk in the second leg despite the mounting odds.
Jurgen Klopp’s side remain one of the favourites to win the Champions League this season, and the performances from Van Dijk will be key to the Reds making it all the way to Saint Petersburg for the final.

Indeed, the win at the San Siro proved to be a routine win for Liverpool, and on social media, supporters loved Van Dijk’s teasing on Dumfries following the second goal of the evening.
