Liverpool’s lingering hopes of signing Kylian Mbappe may have received a surprise boost after Paris Saint-Germain’s win over Real Madrid.
That’s according to Spanish newspaper SPORT, who claim that Mbappe is having second thoughts about joining Real.
Mbappe is out of contract this summer and can walk away from PSG for absolutely nothing.
Many have expected that the French superstar will be heading to Real, but that may not be such a foregone conclusion.
SPORT suggest that Mbappe isn’t convinced by Real’s sporting project and PSG’s 1-0 win over them this week – thanks to a superb Mbappe winner – means he may snub Real.
PSG still hope to keep Mbappe – who tells himself he is better than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo – but there are some intriguing claims about Liverpool too.
It’s stated that Real’s offer is better than Liverpool’s in terms of finances, which you would expect.
Yet the report adds that Liverpool are trying to convince Mbappe with Jurgen Klopp as the big selling point.
Real are often chopping and changing managers, with current boss Carlo Ancelotti – only appointed last summer – is already under huge pressure.

You look at Liverpool and they seem settled; a quality starting lineup with a manager who isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
That’s the kind of stability Mbappe is seeking, even if it means taking less money in wages or signing-on fee.
It still feels a little unlikely that Mbappe will be heading to Liverpool, but Real’s hopes seem to be taking a hit.
If Liverpool can pull this off, adding Mbappe to Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz, they would have one of the scariest front lines in Premier League history.
