Rangers will consider selling Joe Aribo for just £5 million this summer with Premier League outfits Aston Villa, Southampton and Crystal Palace weighing up bids, as reported by All Nigeria Soccer.
Change isn’t always a bad thing. Just ask Celtic fans.
Rangers’ 3-0 drubbing at Parkhead last month becomes all the more impressive when you consider that nine of the 11 players who started for Ange Postecoglou’s side weren’t even in Glasgow 12 months ago.
Is it time for Rangers to consider a re-vamp of their own? A smattering of new faces to freshen up an old, familiar cast?
Arguably the greatest Scot ever to make his mark in football, the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson, was the master of knocking down one dynasty and building another out of the wreckage, strengthening from a position of power.
Given the way their performance levels have dipped last season’s Invincible campaign, maybe Rangers should consider taking a leaf out of Fergie’s book.
Especially with so many key players, including Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun, Allan McGregor and Steven Davis, out of contract.
Is Joe Aribo leaving Rangers?
One player Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be determined to keep hold of, however, is Aribo.
Arguably the most in-form Rangers player of the Van Bronckhorst era so far, Aribo has six goals and six assists to his name this season, to go with his burgeoning collection of Man of the Match awards.
But with his contract expiring in 2023, the Premiership champions will consider selling the Nigeria international for just £5 million this summer.
A player of Aribo’s talent and potential is worth far more than that in today’s market. But £5 million is still better than nothing.

What’s more, ANS reports that Aribo is ‘not interested’ in putting pen to paper on a new deal.
Southampton, Crystal Palace, Watford and Brentford are keen. As are an Aston Villa side coached by the man who brought Aribo to Ibrox in the first place.
“He’s a joy to watch,” Gerrard said in October.
“I thought his first 45 minutes (in a 2-0 Europa League win over Brondby) outstanding. If he can do that regularly, we’ll be lucky to keep him.”
Gerrard always knew that opposition managers would be registering their interest in Aribo before long. He probably didn’t expect, however, that he’d be among them.
