Clinton Morrison claimed that Everton duo, Donny van de Beek and Allan, were running ‘all over’ Leeds at Goodison Park, as he told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports.

The former striker added that Leeds were ‘really poor’ in midfield during their 3-0 defeat to Frank Lampard’s men.

After losing to Newcastle last time out, it was important Frank Lampard’s side bounced back from that defeat, especially with those behind them picking up points.

But it was a great response from those in Everton colours and Morrison was impressed by what he was seeing from Lampard’s rejuvenated side.

“Leeds couldn’t get their big players involved,” said Morrison. “Jack Harrison has been quiet and Dan James hasn’t really had a kick.

“They are really poor in midfield. They are getting run all over in midfield. Donny van de Beek and Allan are dominating them.”

There were a number of positives from that win at Leeds, including the performance of Van de Beek.

But, as they did against Brentford in the FA Cup, the Toffees can’t afford to be stop-start during these coming weeks.

For their next fixture, it’s an away trip to St Mary’s and facing-off against a Southampton side in real strong form.

If they can secure a positive result out of that, then they can go all guns blazing at Manchester City in a couple of weeks time.
