Michael Dawson has said on Sky Sports News (1:20pm, February 12, 2022) that Cristian Romero has been a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Tottenham defender has praised Romero for his aggressive nature, and believes that Fabio Paratici got it right with the Argentina international central defender.

Tottenham signed the 23-year-old on loan from Italian club Atalanta in the summer of 2022.

Spurs Managing Director of Football, Fabio Paratici, was instrumental in the signing of the defender.

Romero has only just returned from a long-term injury and has been able to make only seven starts in the Premier League so far this season.

Dawson said on Sky Sports News (1:20pm, February 12, 2022): “Romero, I think, is a good signing.

“He was the one positive from the Southampton game, the way he plays. He is aggressive, playing in the central of a three.”

Cristian Romero could be big for Tottenham Hotspur

In our view, Romero could be a big player for Tottenham in the final weeks and months of the season.

The defender is suited to Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte’s system of three at the back.

Romero is strong, aggressive, can pass the ball from the back, and can read the game.

Tottenham are not doing particularly well at the moment, but the North London club are still very much in the race for the Premier League top four this season.

In our opinion, Romero’s return to action is going to boost Spurs’ chances of claiming a Champions League place.
