Ian Wright has taken to Twitter to hit back at Ruben Neves, after he complained about Arsenal celebrating their 1-0 win at Molineux.

What’s the story?

Well, Neves felt Arsenal celebrated their 1-0 win “like they won the league” in comments which oozed bitterness.

After all, why shouldn’t the Gunners passionately celebrate a vital win, having defended courageously with only ten men for 20 minutes?

As quoted by the BBC, Neves said: “We saw the way they celebrated the win and that shows the level we are. I didn’t see Arsenal celebrating like this in the past ten years. It was like they won the league.”

Now, Wright has taken to Twitter to hit back at those comments with a brilliant reaction, which you can see below.

Fair play. Nobody should be shamed for celebrating a win in football.

What does Neves want Arsenal to do? Trudge off the pitch looking miserable?

It was Arsenal’s first win of 2022, and also a vital one as it keeps them in contention for a place in next season’s Champions League.

Arsenal showed their steel in 1-0 win over Wolves

Over the years, the Gunners have gained a reputation for playing fancy football, but with little solidity at the back.

However, Mikel Arteta’s side showed a steely determination to fend off Wolves last night, and ensure they took three points back to London.

The likes of Aaron Ramsdale and Ben White have helped bring a bit of toughness back to Arsenal, after years of softness at the back.

Alongside other big characters such as Kieran Tierney and Gabriel Magalhães, the future is bright for Arsenal’s backline.

It’s great to see, and if it helps Arsenal scrape a few more 1-0 wins in games where things aren’t exactly going to plan, then who knows where they’ll finish in the Premier League this season.
