Arsenal supporters on Twitter have stumbled upon an old tweet from Aston Villa sensation Jacob Ramsey.

The 20-year-old is having one hell of a breakthrough season at Aston Villa – and it got a lot better against Leeds United on Wednesday night.

Ramsey scored twice in a 3-3 draw against Marcelo Bielsa’s outfit at Villa Park.

Back in 2017, the Bodymoor Heath sensation was left purring over a performance by Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.

The Gunners won 5-2 away to Everton in October of that year.

Ramsey tweeted out a message saying simply ‘Arsenal’ and added flame emojis for emphasis.

Here’s how some supporters of the North London club are reacting after finding the tweet:

Grounded

Ramsey, who turns 21 in May, certainly seems to be the next big thing coming out of Aston Villa.

However, he has proven nothing yet and no doubt Steven Gerrard will be hammering that message home after Wednesday night’s double.

It’s vitally important that youngsters remain grounded amid all the hype that Ramsey has been getting – including from Arsenal supporters – and it’s Gerrard’s job to ensure that the kid doesn’t get carried away by it.

A lot of prodigious young talents in English football have effectively disappeared after receiving early plaudits.

And with Gerrard as manager, a player who burst on to the scene himself at Liverpool way back when, Ramsey has a good chance of avoiding the same pitfalls that hindered other young starlets before him.
