Arsenal’s deal to sign New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner has now been signed off with the move set to go through over the summer.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that paperwork for Turner’s arrival at Arsenal has now been completed.
Final details have gone through and Turner’s move is now set up to go through at the end of the season, pending a medical and work permit.
Arsenal have agreed to pay £7.5million for Turner, with that deal agreed during the January window but always intended for Sunday.
The current plan for Turner is to play as backup to Aaron Ramsdale. Current second-choice stopper Bernd Leno is expected to leave this summer.
Newcastle United are interested in signing the German, who has lost his place to Ramsdale this season.
That should be more than enough inspiration in itself for Turner. Ramsdale was signed to most play behind Leno this season and maybe take over in the future.
Ramsdale quickly nailed down the first-choice spot in the Arsenal team and is enjoying a great first season in North London.
It may seem difficult, almost impossible after how great Ramsdale has performed this season, but Turner must now look to take Ramsdale’s role just as he took Leno’s.

Turner, 27, is something of a late bloomer having only really started playing senior top-level football at the age of 24.
Turner was undrafted in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft but has become the top goalkeeper in MLS; he quite literally won the award for it in 2021.
Now a regular for the United States with 16 caps, Turner’s move to Arsenal has been branded ‘amazing’ by US boss Gregg Berhalter.
Rising from undrafted to seven-figure Arsenal move is quite the story, and Turner will be hoping to make another big step up when his deal goes through.
