Bruno Lage is flattered by potential interest from Corinthians but leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers would be difficult after just seven months in the Premier League, as reported by TNT Sports.
Lage is only half-a-season into the three-year deal he signed when replacing Nuno Espirito Santo last summer.
Even if the former Benfica boss was tempted by the prospect of a sudden departure from Molineux, Wolves would be in no mood to let him go without a fight.
Especially when you consider that, after a difficult start, Wolves have made impressive progress under the 45-year-old tactician; The reigning Premier League Manager of the Month.
They are eighth in the table as things stand. But the gap separating Wolves and West Ham United in fourth stands at just six points.
Would Bruno Lage leave Wolves after just 7 months?
Whether Corinthians are willing to test Wolves’ resolve is anyone’s guess.
One of the biggest clubs in South America sacked former Arsenal and Manchester City defender Sylvinho last week and are in the process of identifying a replacment.
“I called (Corinthians president) Duilio (Monteiro Alves) and recommended a coach. It’s Bruno Lage,” says Will Dantas, an agent who knows Lage well after selling Pedrinho to his Benfica side two years ago.
“I met him at Benfica, when he was the club’s coach. He approved of Pedrinho when I took him to the club. I spent an hour talking to the guy while Pedrinho did his exams (medical tests).
“I think that if Corinthians brought him in, he would be a big name. Duilio said he would analyse it, because they offered him the world.

“Bruno was very flattered. And (he’s) happy with the conversation. But I find it very difficult for him to leave. Today he’s maybe working in the best league in the world – the Premier League.”
Interestingly, Lage does appear to be on a different page to the Wolves board when it comes to the club’s transfer plans. Lage wanted to keep Adama Traore before the winger sealed his return to Barcelona in January (GMS).
Furthermore, the Iberian made it clear that he wanted a new centre-back, a striker and a winger in the winter window. By the time the market closed, Chiquinho was the only new arrival.
