Newcastle United new boy Bruno Guimaraes has admitted speaking to three Brazilian stars in the Premier League before making his move.
The Magpies secured five January signings, with the focus mostly on players with Premier League experience.
In came Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Matt Targett and Dan Burn, who should be able to make instant impacts for Newcastle.
The only signing with no English experience is midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, who joined in a big move from Lyon.
One of the top midfielders in France, Guimaraes can bring great control to Newcastle’s midfield – something Eddie Howe really needs.
Guimaraes has been tracked by a host of Premier League clubs, so his move to St James’ Park is a major coup.
The Brazilian ace could make his debut against Everton tonight, with fans no doubt excited to see him in action.
Guimaraes has been speaking to the local press about his move, and name-dropped a few Brazilian stars who helped influence the move.
Speaking to the Shields Gazette, Guimaraes admitted that he spoke to Chelsea’s Thiago Silva, Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus and Manchester United’s Alex Telles before the move.

Guimares claims the trio told him how difficult it is to play against Newcastle at St James’ Park, praising their ‘passionate’ fans.
Guimaraes now can’t wait to experience that atmosphere, especially having been told that a visit to Newcastle is one of the most difficult away games around.
“I spoke to Thiago Silva, Gabriel Jesus, Alex Telles as well,” said Guimaraes. “They told me how difficult it is to play away at Newcastle given how passionate the fans are, that it’s one of the most difficult away fixtures in the league, so I didn’t have to think twice about coming here.”
“I’m really happy to be here – and really looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere of the Premier League and Newcastle,” he added.
