Gary Lineker has praised Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott on Twitter after he made his comeback from injury against Cardiff City at Anfield in the FA Cup at the weekend.

Liverpool winger Elliott featured against Cardiff in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday.

The 18-year-old winger came on as a substitute and scored a wonderful goal.

It was the first time that Elliott was involved in a competitive match for Liverpool following a serious injury back in September 2021.

Elliott suffered a fracture dislocation of his left ankle against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United back in September 2021.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker and Match of the Day presenter Lineker is pleased to see the teenager return from injury and has praised him on Twitter.

Boost for Liverpool

In our view, Elliott being back from injury is a big boost for Liverpool for the business end of the season.

The teenager is a very good winger who was being used in midfield before injury struck in September.

The former Fulham youngster will give Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp a valuable option in attack.

Liverpool may be unlikely to win the Premier League title this season, but they could still win the Champions League.
