Gary Lineker has praised reported Arsenal summer 2022 transfer target Djed Spence on Twitter after watching him in action for Nottingham Forest against Leicester City in the FA City.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester striker believes that Spence, on loan at Forest from Championship rivals Middlesbrough, was “absolutely brilliant” in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the City Ground on Sunday.
Forest won 4-1 against Premier League club Leicester.
Right-back Spence scored in the 61st minute and was superb both going on the attack and in defence, impressing Lineker in the process.
Goal reported last week that Arsenal want to sign Middlesbrough-owned right-back Spence in the summer of 2022 as cover for Takehiro Tomiyasu.

In our view, Spence would be a good signing for Arsenal as cover for their first-choice right-back Tomiyasu.
Especially if Arsenal can get the right-back for £12-15 million.
Now, of course, you could argue that Spence is playing only in the Championship, and that too on loan from another club in the same division.
However, the right-back has done well against Premier League opposition when he has played against them, like Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
