Tottenham Hotspur failed to sign a right wing back before the transfer deadline, but may now focus on Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey for the summer.
Tottenham were keen to bring in a new right wing back this month, with Antonio Conte seeking another option there.
Emerson Royal hasn’t really impressed since joining from Barcelona over the summer, meaning his job is already under threat.
Adama Traore was the top target in January, but he snubbed Tottenham in favour of signing for Barcelona.
Fabio Paratici decided not to force a move for another wing back, with Tottenham instead choosing to wait until the summer.
One of Tottenham’s main targets may be Lamptey, with the London Evening Standard claiming that Spurs are considering a move.
Lamptey, 21, has excelled for Brighton ever since joining from Chelsea in January 2020.
Whilst diminutive at just 5ft 5in tall, Lamptey has earned fans up and down the country for his superb attacking play.
That’s what Conte is looking for at Tottenham, with Emerson yet to really show he can be a threat in the final third.

Lamptey won’t come cheap; Brighton will surely be seeking around £40million or even more for their star wing back.
Brighton boss Graham Potter has called Lamptey ‘amazing’, talking up his blistering pace as well as his defensive work rate.
Lamptey has the ideal blend that Tottenham are seeking, but you only have to look at Ben White’s move to know that Tottenham will have to spend big.
Brighton fended Arsenal off until they got a huge offer, with the Seagulls in a strong financial position and under no pressure to sell.
Tottenham at least have months to gauge whether Lamptey is interested in a move, and Paratici must be laying the groundwork early with Lamptey no doubt a man in demand this summer.
