Donny van de Beek has told EvertonTV he wants to prove he has the ability to be a Premier League talent after joining Everton in a deadline day loan transfer from Manchester United.
The Dutchman has struggled to establish himself in the English top-flight since moving from Ajax for potentially £40m in 2020. He has only played 27 times in one-and-a-half seasons at Old Trafford. Of his appearances, the midfielder has also only started four for 579-minutes.
Van de Beek was a creative force from the centre of midfield during his time in Amsterdam. The 24-year-old ended his last term at Ajax with 10 goals and 11 assists over 37 games. Yet he has only scored two and assisted two in 50 games in all competitions for the Red Devils.

New Everton manager Frank Lampard only has to field Van de Beek for one Premier League game for the Manchester United loanee to now match his minutes for the season so far. He has totalled 68 over eight substitute outings, with just nine since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer left.
Ralf Rangnick nor Michael Carrick ever took a shine to the 19-cap maestro during either of their spells in charge. Of Van de Beek’s woeful minutes total, he earned just one in the Red Devils’ last six top-flight fixtures. He also only played 18-minutes in the FA Cup last month.
Van de Beek has point to prove after Everton loan transfer
Van de Beek now feels he has a point to prove at Everton after sealing a deadline day loan transfer from Manchester United. Lampard’s first Toffees signing also feels the Blues are in a strong position to move up the table from their current lowly ranking of just 16th-place.
“I want to show my qualities, my strengths, to the people in England – but especially the fans from Everton,” he said. “The most important thing is we win games and go up the table. We have good players in the team and the talent and ability to go up in the league.

“But, for that, we need to work hard and I want to be part of this. Everton is a big club, with big players, history and amazing fans. The club has everything to be higher in the table.”
Additionally, Van de Beek believes he has a lot to give Everton during his loan transfer from Manchester United. Lampard will also hope his confidence soon translates onto the pitch.
“I hope to bring my football qualities, my passing, and, of course, scoring goals,” he added. “It is a big part of my game to score and give assists and I will try to do that again. And it is not only offensive, [but] you have to defend as a midfielder and I can do that as well.”
