Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard will push for a move to Newcastle United on January transfer deadline day, according to The Athletic.
The Athletic are reporting that Lingard, who can also play as a winger, will meet with Manchester United interim-manager Ralf Rangnick this morning and ‘make one final push’ to get a move to Newcastle.
The 29-year-old spoke to Rangnick at Manchester United’s Carrington training ground on Sunday and will speak to him again on Monday morning.
Could Jesse Lingard leave Manchester United for Newcastle United?
In our view, if Lingard is determined to join Newcastle, then a move could happen on January transfer deadline day.
After all, Manchester United will surely not want to keep a squad player who is not happy.

Moreover, Lingard is out of contract at the Red Devils at the end of the season.
The Athletic have reported that for Lingard, who can also play as a winger, to go on loan to Newcastle, Manchester United want his salary covered, a £2.5 million loan fee and £12 million if Newcastle avoid relegation from the Premier League.
In our view, those demands are really too much.
We think that Manchester United should be flexible on those demands and let Lingard leave for Newcastle.
