Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have made a bid of £5 million for Fulham attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho, according to Sky Sports.

Sky Sports are reporting this afternoon (2:57pm, January 30, 2022) that one source has told them that Liverpool have bid £5 million for the 19-year-old, who can also operate as a winger.

Fulham are confident that Carvalho will stay at the club until the end of the season, according to the report.

The attacker is out of contract at Fulham at the end of the season.

Sky Sports have added that other clubs are also interested in Carvalho, described as a “big talent” by Fulham manager Marco Silva in The Mirror this week.

Could Liverpool sign Fabio Carvalho for £5 million?

In our view, Liverpool are unlikely to be able to sign Carvalho from Fulham for just £5 million in the January transfer window.

We think that the former Premier League and European champions will have to increase their bid.

Yes, the teenager is out of contract at Fulham at the end of the season.

But, Fulham are aiming to win automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Keeping the attacker and winning promotion to the richest league in the world will surely outweigh the £5 million transfer fee that Liverpool are offering.

Carvalho has made 15 starts and three substitute appearances in the Championship for Fulham so far this season.

The attacker has scored seven goals and provided four assists in those games.
