According to the Daily Mail, Everton are interested in signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek as they aim to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
What’s the story?
Well, the Toffees are currently managerless, but that doesn’t seem to have stopped them identifying transfer targets before Monday’s deadline.
The Daily Mail believe Everton are keen to sign Loftus-Cheek following injuries to Abdoulaye Doucoure and Fabian Delph.
Interestingly, Juventus are also keeping tabs on the £30,000-a-week man in case Arsenal take Arthur Melo from them this month.
The 26-year-old has made just seven Premier League starts under Thomas Tuchel this season, and is far from a regular name in the starting XI.
As things stand, Everton are taking a risk if they sign Loftus-Cheek, as Rafa Benitez is yet to be replaced.
It’s entirely possible that whoever replaces the Spaniard has no interest in using the 10-cap England international.
Everton should sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek anyway

Admittedly, it would be a risk to bring anyone to Goodison Park before Benitez has been replaced, but Everton don’t have time to waste.
The transfer window ends on Monday, and the Toffees need to strengthen some areas, notably the central midfield and centre-back departments.
In that respect, Everton should do everything they can over the weekend to bring Loftus-Cheek to Merseyside.

The Cobham Academy graduate – who has made 120 Premier League appearances – is a fine player who would bring bundles of quality to Everton.
Loftus-Cheek is, however, injury prone – it would be a nightmare if he is signed to cover for Doucoure and Delph, only to suffer an injury of his own.
Keep an eye on this saga, as anything could happen between now and Monday.
