Calciomercato have reported that Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo remains keen on a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the January transfer window.

The report in the Italian news outlet has reported that Juventus and Arthur are waiting for Arsenal to make a new bid for the Brazilian midfielder.

The former Barcelona midfielder remains keen on a transfer to Arsenal despite talkings among three parties having broken down.

Juventus are reportedly still open to offloading Arthur and have identified Nahitan Nandez as a possible replacement.

Could Arthur Melo to Arsenal still happen?

In our view, there is still a chance that Arthur could join Arsenal from Juventus in the final days of the January transfer window.

Never say never, especially when the window is open.

If the Brazilian midfielder is determined to join Arsenal, then a move could well happen between now and the end of the window.

Maybe Arsenal, Juventus and Arthur should try for a straight loan with no option or obligation to buy.

The Gunners, if they are keen on the former Barcelona player, should be willing to pay his wages in full.

That way, Juventus could at least save money on Arthur’s wages instead of keeping a player who wants to go.
