Daniil Fomin’s agent says negotiations regarding a move to the Premier League are not yet underway for the Crystal Palace target, speaking to Sport 24.
Of course, that could soon change, even if there are only a few days remaining in the January transfer window.
Much will depend, however, on what Manchester United plan to do with Donny Van de Beek.
Crystal Palace have asked to take the £35 million Dutchman on loan for the rest of the season. But United rejected a similar offer from Everton a few months ago and interim coach Ralf Rangnick recently expressed his desire to keep Van de Beek at Old Trafford.
It makes sense, then, to have a back-up plan.
And, according to Russian publications Championat, that’s where 24-year-old Fomin comes in.
Will Crystal Palace sign Daniil Fomin or Donny Van de Beek?
A talented attacking midfielder with an eye for goal – like Van de Beek, one could add – Fomin has scored seven times in 19 games for a title-chasing Dynamo Moscow side this season.
His agent was reluctant to give much away when asked about Palace’s interest in the Russia international however.
“Fomin has a contract with Dynamo. Information about interest from Crystal Palace is a rumour that is not correct to talk about,” says Alexander Manyakov.
“Negotiations are not ongoing.”
Fomin has also been linked with West Ham United and Newcastle this month.
And former Dynamo Moscow defender Dmytro Parfenov believes that Fomin should grasp the chance to play Premier League football should it arise between now and Monday’s transfer deadline.

Too good to turn down?
“If there is an opportunity to play in the Premier League, then it should be taken,” Parfenov says.
“Only time will tell if his footballing qualities are suitable for the English league. Fomin has improved this season in many areas but this is down to the good performances of Dynamo.
“Is Fomin better than Donny van de Beek, whom Crystal Palace wants to sign? Daniil is our player, so we will think that he is better than Van de Beek.”
According to MetaRatings, Crystal Palace value Fomin at around £4 million.
