According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal and Aston Villa could now cause Leeds to miss out on a deal for Nahitan Nandez.

What’s the story?

Well, the Italian news outlet highlight an interesting transfer merry-go-round involving the Premier League trio.

As you may have heard, Arsenal are trying to wrap up a deal for Juventus maestro Arthur to bolster their midfield options.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa are interested in signing Rodrigo Bentancur from the Italian giants, as Steven Gerrard looks to strengthen his own options.

As a result, Massimiliano Allegri is eyeing a move for Nandez, just in case he ends up having to replace the duo before deadline day.

That would impact Leeds. According to Cagliari News 24, Marcelo Bielsa’s side are leading the race to sign the Uruguayan, as Torino aren’t willing to meet Cagliari’s £20m asking price.

With all due respect, Juventus are a much bigger club than Cagliari, so they may be more able to pay the £20m sum.

Imagine telling someone a decade ago that Arsenal and Aston Villa could pinch two midfielders from Juventus, forcing them to find a replacement from Cagliari.

In a short space of time, English football – largely thanks to the TV revenue – has risen above the rest of Europe, with the Premier League now a global force.

More English sides are reaching the finals of European competitions, and as seen in this three-way transfer saga, even a club the size of Juventus may lose a key player to Aston Villa.

Of course, the Villans are also a big club, but it must be noted they were in the Championship not too long ago.

Keep an eye on this saga, as it seems a lot could happen between Juventus and the Premier League across the next week.
