Speaking on the Sky Sports Football Podcast, Jamie Carragher has named Kevin De Bruyne as his dream signing for Liverpool.

Of course, De Bruyne won’t be swapping the Etihad for Anfield anytime soon. He’s firmly committed to Manchester City and the Reds are arguably the Cityzens’ biggest rivals these days.

However, with the transfer window in full swing, Carragher was asked who he’d sign from the Premier League for the Reds if he had the choice, and the pundit chose the Belgian.

What’s Carragher said about De Bruyne?

The Liverpool legend named the City star as his dream signing.

“Which player now in the Premier League would you sign for Liverpool if you had the pick of anyone at any other club?” Gary Neville asked.

“Kevin De Bruyne. I think he’s one of the best players in the world. I think in the past two or three years he’s certainly been the best midfield player in the world. People say Liverpool lack creativity in midfield, and I think that’s a bit harsh because I think Liverpool get their creativity from different areas and with the way the team is set-up,” Carragher said.

“The midfield three do a lot of work for the front-three and the full-backs. So they have a job to do and they do it well, but I just think De Bruyne is sensational in that right channel, maybe he’d get in the way of Trent, I don’t know, but De Bruyne is the first one that springs to mind.”

Imagine

We shouldn’t have to make it clear, but De Bruyne won’t be joining Liverpool anytime soon.

However, could you imagine if he did?

De Bruyne would be absolutely incredible for the Reds, and he’d make the Anfield outfit an even scarier attacking force.

De Bruyne is also brilliant when it comes to tracking back, so he’d fit the system brilliantly, but he’d bring a new level of flair and creativity to the Reds’ midfield.
