Liverpool could reportedly face competition for FC Porto star Luis Diaz, with Manchester United scouts in attendance in Portugal on Sunday to watch the attacker.

According to O Jogo, the Red Devils, as well as La Liga champions Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund were at the Dragao to watch the Colombian international, who is reportedly on Liverpool’s radar.

A Bola reported earlier in the month that the Reds were keen on the 24-year-old winger, who this season has been one of the starring players in the Primeira Division. Moreover, Diaz’s release clause stands at £68m.

A trickster at the peak of his powers, Diaz has caught the eye of many supporters over the past few months for some of his outrageous pieces of skill and goals for both Porto and the Colombian national team.

And now, Diaz has found himself on the radar for some of Europe’s clubs, with Liverpool seemingly the favourites to sign the forward. However, with United and Atletico in attendance on Sunday to scout the winger, this could all change.

With Anthony Martial close to joining Sevilla as per Fabrizio Romano, United could well make a late move for Diaz in the window with a week left to go.

This season has been one to remember for Diaz, with the winger’s stock rising to career-record highs and his reputation growing around Europe with each passing game, and the attacker could one day have to choose between a move to Liverpool or United.

Indeed, both sides have a good case as to why Diaz should join them this year. And for the attacker, he could find himself stuck between a rock and a hard place over where to move next in his promising career.
