Newcastle United right-back Emil Krafth does not want to leave St. James’ Park in the January transfer window, according to The Sun.
The Sun have reported that Spanish clubs are interested in signing Krafth in the final days of the January window.
Krafth will have to fight for his place in the Newcastle starting lineup, with manager Eddie Howe signing former Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kieran Trippier earlier in the window.
However, according to The Sun, the 27-year-old Sweden international right-back still wants to stay at Newcastle and fight for his place in the team.
Emil Krafth’s Newcastle stance is admirable
In our view, Krafth reportedly deciding to stay at Newcastle speaks a lot about his character and determination to succeed at St. James’ Park.
Trippier is one of the best right-backs around, and the England international defender would not have joined Newcastle from Atletico Madrid had he not been assured of playing regularly.

Krafth, who cost Newcastle £5 million in transfer fees in the summer of 2019 (BBC Sport), has made six starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League so far this season.
The Newcastle no. 17 has scored one goal in 40 Premier League appearances so far in his career.
Meanwhile, TMW have reported that Newcastle are close to signing Mitchel Bakker from Bayer Leverkusen in the January transfer window.
The Telegraph had earlier reported that talks over signing the 21-year-old left-back had broken down.
