Speaking on The Red Agenda Podcast, James Pearce has shared what he’s been told from people within Liverpool about Fabio Carvalho.

The Reds have been credited with an interest in the Fulham midfielder for quite some time now, and it has even been reported that they could move for the teenager this month.

Unfortunately for the Reds, a January move won’t be easy. Carvalho’s situation is very complicated due to an unclear situation regarding his agent, while people at Liverpool also concede that there are lots of clubs with an eye on the youngster.

What’s been said about Carvalho?

Pearce shared what he knows about the midfielder.

“You’ve written in the article that he has a really strange set-up in terms of agents and who is representing him at the moment?” The host queried.

“That side of the article came from Peter Rutzler our Fulham correspondent, but yeah, I think that doesn’t make it particularly easy to deal with. There are a lot of people claiming to represent him at the minute and trying to set up various things. Of course, because of his contract situation, he’s a very attractive proposition for overseas clubs, for clubs in Spain especially. If he was to go to Spain the compensation would be around £200,000. I spoke to people at Liverpool last week who said ‘yes we like him, but there’s probably a dozen clubs in that category at the minute’.” Pearce said.

Transfer tussle

It seems as though Liverpool will have to take part in something of a transfer tussle if they’re to land Carvalho.

People within Anfield state that there are around a dozen clubs in for the midfielder, and if reports are to be believed, the likes of Tottenham and Real Madrid are amongst those sides.

Carvalho, if he chooses to leave Fulham, will be spoilt for choice in terms of where he goes next, and Liverpool may need to put forward a very enticing offer in order to land him.
