Fabrizio Romano claims Inter Milan have joined Newcastle in the chase to sign Atalanta left-back Robin Gosens. The German ace is returning from injury, and finds himself embroiled in a transfer battle for his services.

Gosens, 27, has been one of Serie A’s best left-footed players in the past few seasons. Clocking up 157 appearances in all competitions for the Italian outfit, he has had a hand in a huge 50 goals – scoring 29, and creating 21.

TuttoMercatoWeb claim that Newcastle have agreed personal terms with Gosens, but have not agreed a fee to sign the Germany international. Fabrizio Romano has now delivered an update on the Euro 2020 sensation.

Romano claims Newcastle have made an offer to sign Gosens – but said offer has been rejected by Atalanta. Indeed, Inter Milan have now joined the chase and Newcastle remain keen – it is now up to Atalanta for a decision.

Romano on Gosens: Newcastle have got to go all out with Inter keen

Newcastle need a left-back. Having sorted out their right-back and striker areas, centre-back, central midfield and left-back is next – as we enter the busiest week of the window. Gosens has got to be first choice.

Starring at Euro 2020 for Germany, Gosens showed he has the quality to be one of Europe’s best left-sided defenders. What perfect stage is better, than in the Premier League – the most-competitive league in the world?

TMW say Gosens is rated between £21million and £25million and Newcastle must take advantage of what is a small-ish fee for a player of his quality.
