Martin Keown has said on talkSPORT (12:10pm, January 21, 2022) that he is intrigued to see how Adama Traore does at Tottenham Hotspur under Antonio Conte if he joins from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Arsenal legend has said that Traore’s pace is “unbelievable”, and has added that he is intrigued to see if Conte would be able to take the former Aston Villa winger to another level at Tottenham.

The Athletic and Fabrizio Romano have reported that Tottenham are close to signing Traore from Premier League rivals Wolves in the January transfer window.

The reported transfer fee is £20 million.

Keown said about Traore on talkSPORT (12:10pm, January 21, 2022): “His pace is unbelievable.”

The Arsenal legend added: “It will be interesting to see, though, if he went and worked under Antonio Conte what he could get from this player.

“I would be very intrigued to see if he could turn this player into the finished article.”

Could Antonio Conte make Adama Traore world class?

In our view, Conte could transform Traore at Tottenham and take him to another level.

If, of course, the winger actually makes the move to Spurs in the January transfer window.

We saw how good Victor Moses became under Conte at Chelsea.

We have also seen Conte improve players like Romelu Lukaku at Inter Milan.

Conte reportedly wants to play Traore as a right wing-back at Tottenham.

In our opinion, given Traore’s pace and crossing ability, he could be a top-class wing-back.

Now, of course, Traore needs to be clinical with his shooting and has to improve his crossing as well.

Traore has scored eight goals and created 22 big chances in 160 Premier League appearances so far in his career.
