Tottenham Hotspur have decided to hand Hugo Lloris a new two-and-a-half-year contract, and, in our view, it effectively means the end of Pierluigi Gollini at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Premier League club Tottenham have announced on their official website that Lloris has signed a new two-and-a-half-year deal.
This means that the France international goalkeeper will stay at Tottenham until 2024
Lloris, 35, was due to become a free agent in the summer of 2022.
Lloris contract means no Tottenham future for Gollini
Tottenham’s faith in Lloris effectively means the end of Gollini’s career at the North London club.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper is the back-up to Lloris at the moment and is on loan from Atalanta.
Gollini joined Tottenham on loan from Serie A club Atalanta in the summer of 2021.

Spurs have an option to make the loan deal permanent at the end of the season, but we find it hard to see why the former Aston Villa goalkeeper would stay at the North London club beyond the end of the season.
After all, Tottenham have just confirmed that Lloris will stay as the number one between the posts for next season and beyound.
Gollini has yet to play in the Premier League for Tottenham this season.
The Spurs no. 22 has made three appearances in the Carabao Cup, one in the FA Cup and four in the Europa Conference League.
