Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Leandro Paredes from Paris Saint-Germain in the January transfer window, according to The Times.

The Times have reported that Tottenham have asked PSG about signing defensive midfielder Paredes as part of any deal involving Tanguy Ndombele.

PSG, now managed by former Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino, have opened talks with Spurs over signing Ndombele on loan with an option to make the deal permanent in the summer of 2022.

According to The Times, Paredes does not want to leave PSG for Tottenham in the January transfer window.

The Telegraph have also claimed that the Argentina international defensive midfielder – described as a player with “a good vision of the game” who “can speed things up” by then PSG head coach Thomas Tuchel – now at Chelsea – in The Belfast Telegraph in February 2019 – has been offered to Tottenham.

What should Tottenham do about Leandro Paredes?

In our view, if Paredes does not want to move to Tottenham in the January transfer window, then there is no point in the North London club pursuing a potential deal.

Now, PSG may want to offload the Argentine and Spurs could benefit from a swap involving Ndombele, but if the player himself does not fancy a transfer, then, in our view, Tottenham can really not do much to convince him now with just over a week left in the window.
