The Athletic claim Liverpool have extensively scouted Fulham wonderkid Fabio Carvalho – and those scout reports are said to be ‘glowing’. The Reds are being linked with a £5million move to sign him this month.

Still only 19, Carvalho has emerged as a crucial part of Marco Silva’s side as Fulham look to bounce back immediately to the Premier League. Carvalho has seven goals in 17, after scoring on his Premier League debut last term.

It might have been more, had a troublesome toe injury not ruled him out for the majority of September and October. His form is also attracting glances from the Premier League and all over Europe.

The Express report that Liverpool and West Ham are planning £5million moves to sign him this month, with Carvalho out of contract in the summer. Fulham have tried to extend his stay, but were rejected in November.

Now, The Athletic report that Liverpool’s interest has been long-standing and that their scouting department have watched him on numerous occasions. The reports compiled are branded ‘glowing’.

Carvalho to Liverpool: Stay, go or move to West Ham?

A move to Liverpool would certainly see Carvalho get game time. Not least because Jurgen Klopp places faith in his young players – but because the Reds could do with an attacking body in the middle of the park.

Kaide Gordon, Tyler Morton, Max Woltman and Caomihin Kelleher have all been regular parts of Liverpool’s senior side. Liverpool lost Xherdan Shaqiri and Gini Wijnaldum in the summer, without a replacement.

So, Carvalho would get game time at Liverpool and could offer some much-needed cover. At West Ham, it would be a similar story. But right now, continuing to develop and shine at Fulham is surely best for his future.
