Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsay is attracting more and more interest after being scouted by Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Press and Journal in Scotland report that Ramsay was scouted by a host of Premier League clubs on Tuesday night.

Ramsay started and played 74 minutes as Aberdeen drew 1-1 with Rangers at Pittodrie.

The right back has been attracting major interest having made a huge impact for Aberdeen this season.

Scotland may well go from struggling at right back to having two major stars fighting it out for years in Ramsay and now-Everton man Nathan Patterson.

Patterson has made his big January move from Scotland to England, and Ramsay could yet end up following suit.

It’s suggested that Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur both sent scouts to watch Ramsay against Rangers.

Add in that Leicester City, Manchester United and Southampton were also scouting Ramsay and a move to England could be on the horizon.

Tottenham did splash the cash on a new right back over the summer as Emerson Royal joined from Barcelona.

The Brazilian hasn’t yet impressed though, and Tottenham may now look to add another option in that area.

Young talents like Djed Spence and Tariq Lamptey have been linked, and Ramsay would fit a similar kind of mould.

If Tottenham were to go for Ramsay, it would smack of a move that would see Ramsay finish the season back on loan at Aberdeen before joining Spurs in the summer – just as Dele Alli did in 2015.

At Leeds though, Ramsay may be able to play first-team football fairly quickly.

Leeds aren’t afraid to use young players; the likes of Lewis Bate, Pascal Struijk and Leo Hjelde all featured against West Ham United last weekend.

Ramsay would give Leeds their right back of the future, competing with Cody Drameh for years to come whilst learning from Luke Ayling.

Ramsay will have a big decision to make if both teams make a move, and that could well come after this week’s scouting mission.
