Ian Wright has stated that Héctor Bellerín is ‘rejuvenated’ after leaving Arsenal in the summer, as he told Wrighty’s House Podcast.

The Highbury legend shared that he is ‘so happy’ for the 26-year-old, who joined Arsenal, from Barcelona, as a teenager.

But after over a decade in north London, Bellerín’s career started stagnating and he needed a fresh start.

The right-back agreed, along with Mikel Arteta, that the best option was for him to look for a fresh start and that’s when he opted to join his boyhood club in Real Betis.

After returning back to his motherland, Bellerin was in conversation with Wright about life in Spain.

And the former striker was ‘so happy’ to see and hear Bellerin’s feeling recharged and ‘revitalised’.

“I am pleased, I can just hear it in your voice,” said Wright. “You sound right.

“I know what happened at Arsenal. There were so many injuries. To listen to you now, with the energy, you have plugged back into an energy force. I’m really pleased to hear it. I am so happy, you are happy after being such an unbelievable servant for Arsenal.

“To see you go back to a place that is so close to your heart and get revitalised and rejuvenated by the energy and everything that goes on there.

“To know that you can leave here after doing so brilliantly, going everything that you were going through and then go to a place where you can find what you have got now. The energy and everything. I feel very happy for you.”

With Bellerin no longer driving up and down Arsenal’s right flank, it’s Takehiro Tomiyasu, who has taken that role since the Spaniard’s exit.

Even though Tomiyasu has been at Arsenal for half a campaign, he is already a firm fan favourite with the supporters.

Along with the likes of Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale, the Japan international has been one of Arsenal’s better players and one of the top purchases of the summer.

The main aim is to finish in those Champions League places, but the sixth-placed Gunners currently have a fight on their hands.
