Ian Wright has praised Liverpool duo Diogo Jota and Trent Alexander-Arnold on Twitter for their performance against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the Carabao Cup on Thursday evening.

Liverpool have got the better of Arsenal 2-0 in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final tie this evening.

Portugal international forward Jota scored both the goals.

England international right-back Alexander-Arnold gave both the assists.

Arsenal legend Wright was following the match, and he was impressed by Liverpool forward Jota and right-back Alexander-Arnold.

Liverpool duo Jota and Alexander-Arnold brilliant v Arsenal

In our view, Liverpool duo Jota and Alexander-Arnold were simply brilliant against Arsenal.

Klopp’s side were better than Arsenal over the course of the 90 minutes, and, in our opinion, they deservedly won the second leg and with it the tie.

Jota’s clever movement and ability to find space was a problem for the Arsenal defence throughout the 90 minutes at the Emirates Stadium.

With Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations at the moment, Jota has stepped up.

Alexander-Arnold is one of the best right-backs in the world, and he showed that against the Gunners tonight.

The England international is only 23, but we think that he is already world class.
