Blackburn Rovers have confirmed the permanent signing of Tottenham youngster Dilan Markanday.
The Championship side announced on their official website that the 20-year-old winger has joined on a long-term contract. As reported by the Daily Mail, Markanday will join Blackburn for a reported fee of £500,000.
The youngster has been one of Spurs’ best youth players this season, with the attacker hitting an impressive 12 goals in Premier League 2 this campaign, with Markanday making his senior bow in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
With first-team chances rare, though, Markanday has taken the decision to join Blackburn on a full-time basis, with Rovers flying in the Championship and sitting in an impressive third place at the midway point of the campaign.
And speaking to the club’s official website, Markanday is excited for this new chapter in his career with Blackburn. The youngster said: “I’m so excited to be able to join such a big club with a great history.”
“Every kid wants to play first-team football and this is a real opportunity for me to get my career started. I had a taste of first-team football with Tottenham this season and I just wanted more of it.”
