Alan Shearer has claimed that Jack Harrison was ‘amazing’ for Leeds United during their 3-2 win over West Ham United on Sunday, as he told Premier League Productions (16/01/22 at 4:15 pm).

The Leeds winger struck a hat-trick at the London Stadium, as Marcelo Bielsa’s side avenged the Hammers for knocking them out of the FA Cup last week.

Whilst West Ham were the better team last time out, Leeds were far more competitive during yesterday’s game and thoroughly deserved all three points.

And, as per with a Bielsa team, it was 100 miles-per-hour, goals galore and full of action in the capital.

During the early stages of the season, Harrison found life tough, but the former Manchester City man is now finding his goalscoring touch, and in some way!

It was a memorable performance from the Englishman and one that he will cherish for a very long time because it is his first hat-trick in England’s top-flight.

During his career, Shearer would have scored plenty of hat-tricks and he shared his thoughts on Harrison’s recent performance.

“Brave performance from Leeds,” said Shearer. “So much energy, as we know. They got their spark back.

“This guy Harrison. What a day for him. Absoutley fantastic. Amazing. They deserved it. They created chances and took their chances.

“Every time West Ham got back into the game, it didn’t stop Leeds. It didn’t change their attitude. Great attitude to think, ‘no, we want to go and get all three points’. And they deserved it.”

No Patrick Bamford? No problem for Bielsa. No Kalvin Phillips? No problem. No Liam Cooper? No problem.

Adam Forshaw and Junior Firpo injured in the first half? No problem for Leeds and Bielsa.

Whilst other teams in the Premier League call games off for less, the injury list Leeds and Bielsa have had to deal with is quite remarkable.

No one has handed more debuts to teenagers this season than Bielsa and he deserves huge credit for not moaning and just going about his work.

That’s why many appreciate the work he is doing in Yorkshire and why a club of Leeds’ size need to stay in the Premier League, with him in the dugout.
