Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Leeds United’s game against West Ham, Marcelo Bielsa has been speaking about Raphinha.
The Brazilian winger’s future was a topic of conversation in the presser as rumours continued to circulate about potential moves to Bayern Munich or Liverpool, while reports of a new contract have also surfaced in recent weeks.
Bielsa didn’t have an update on the winger’s future, but what he did have was massive praise for the Brazilian.
Indeed, the Argentine labelled the 25-year-old as Leeds’ best player.
What’s Bielsa said about Raphinha?
The gaffer spoke about his star man
“Raphinha’s the best player in the team in all the senses. Physically he’s the best, technically he’s at the level of the best, his interpretation of the game is very wise. Within the group of such a powerful nation as Brazil, he shines in the Premier League and he has the attention of all the big clubs in the world. All of those things are something you guys know as well. There’s nothing new. As a result, the decision of the club can only be valued,” Bielsa said.
At this point, it’s pretty much indisputable who Leeds’ best player is.
Yes, Kalvin Phillips is excellent, and on his day, he’d probably be able to put forward a very strong case, but Raphinha has simply been on another level this season.
Bielsa isn’t the type of manager to say things like this, but when one player is so undoubtedly brilliant, it’s simply impossible to ignore.
There’s a reason that the biggest clubs in the world are looking at Raphinha.
