Newcastle United are ready to pay £3 million to Manchester United for West Ham United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard, according to The Daily Star.
The report has claimed that Newcastle are willing to sign Lingard, who can also operate as a winger, on a permanent contract in the January transfer window.
Eddie Howe’s side are ready to pay Premier League rivals Manchester United £3 million in transfer fees for Lingard.
West Ham are also interested in signing the England International, according to The Daily Star.
However, the Hammers are not willing to get into a bidding war for Lingard, who spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham.

Could Newcastle get Jesse Lingard?
In our view, Newcastle may not be able to sign Lingard from Premier League rivals Manchester United in the January transfer window.
The Englishman is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season, according to The Daily Star.
Newcastle are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship.
Lingard may not fancy a move to a club who could end up in the second tier of English football in a few months’ time.
After all, the Englishman could get a lot of offers as a free agent at the end of the season.
