Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are competing with Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United for Reims striker Hugo Ekitike, according to The Chronicle.
The report has claimed that Arsenal are interested in Ekitike, who is valued at £25 million.
Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Paris Saint-Germain are also claimed to be keen on the 19-year-old French striker.
Newcastle are reportedly in talks with Reims over the transfer of Ekitike in January.
Should Arsenal sign Hugo Ekitike?
In our view, if Arsenal sign Ekitike in January, then they must not expect him to hit the ground running.
The Reims striker is only 19 and is far from the finished article.
However, we cannot deny the potential and quality that Ekitike has got.
The Daily Mail have reported that Ekitike has been compared to fellow French striker and Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.

Ekitike has made 10 starts and seven substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Reims so far this season.
The Reims no. 22 has scored eight goals and provided two assists in those games.
A transfer fee of £25 million for a teenage striker is a lot of money, and we think that Arsenal need to really consider a potential move carefully.
Does Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta want a striker who could take a few years to properly gel, or does he want someone who would be able to hit the ground running?
