YouTube star Adalia Rose Williams, who had been diagnosed with Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (Benjamin Button disease), has passed away at the age of 15.

Adalia was a content creator with millions of subscribers on YouTube. Tributes have poured out to the blogging personality after the news about her death.

What is Benjamin Button disease?

The Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome is known as the Benjamin Button disease and the progeria syndrome. This is a group of disorders that lead to rapid aging in children.

According to the Progeria Research Foundation, the disease affects about 1 in 20 million people.

About 350 to 400 children are battling the syndrome “at any given time in the world”, according to Healthline.

The most common type is the Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome which is a rare and fatal condition and appears when children are still in utero.

What happened to Adalia Rose?

Adalia Rose passed away on January 12th after battling Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome. She was 15 years old.

The news of her death was confirmed by her family on Instagram. The post read: “January 12, 2022 at 7pm Adalia Rose Williams was set free from this world. She came into it quietly and left quietly, but her life was far from it. She touched MILLIONS of people and left the biggest imprint in everyone that knew her.

“She is no longer in pain and is now dancing away to all the music she loves. I really wish this wasn’t our reality but unfortunately it is. We want to say thank you to everyone that loved and supported her. Thank you to all her doctors and nurses that worked for YEARS to keep her healthy. The family would now like to mourn this huge loss in private.”

Fans pay tributes to Adalia

Many fans of the YouTube star are saddened over the news about her death and have taken to Twitter and Instagram to pay emotional tributes.

“RIP Adalia Rose…thank you for sharing your life with us. A life with an indelible sense of authenticity and joy every day,” wrote in a Twitter post Taeler Hendrix.

“Long live Adalia Rose,” wrote another user. “I’ve followed her journey since she was a baby. Prayers up for her Mom, brothers and family.”

Someone else said: “I just feel sad hearing about Adalia Rose now when you’ve been following her for a decade 🙁 RIP.”
